ABOUT AMINA AHMETAGIĆ

Visual artist

Born in Tuzla on July 10, 1998. Raised in Gračanica, where she completed her primary and secondary education. In addition to her basic education, she also graduated from the Parallel Music School in Gračanica, majoring in piano. In the spring of 2017, she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts as the top candidate on the accepted candidates list, specializing in Printmaking. During her studies, she became a scholar of the Hastor Foundation and participated in all volunteer activities within and outside the foundation, continuing her activist development after years of membership in various NGO organizations. During her studies, she went on a one-semester exchange through the Erasmus+ program at the .Academy of Fine Arts and Design," University of Ljubljana, during the 2021/2022 school year" After the exchange, she returned to Sarajevo to work on her graduation project "Decorative Feminism" at the Academy in Sarajevo, which she completed in 2022, earning the title Bachelor of Fine Arts - .Printmaking Her main focus in art is mixed media, design, printmaking and photography. Her work reflects a fusion of traditional and contemporary influences, demonstrating the preservation of tradition, as well as the interest for modern influences in art. After her Bachelor's studies, she enrolled in the Second Cycle at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, this time at the Department of Photography. Amina received the title, Master of Fine Arts - Photography on February 1. 2024. She is an advocate for non-formal education and work with children and young people, she is an active member of society through activism and volunteerism, in various spheres of interest. The topics she is currently working on in her work are inspired by active state and social problems, as well as addressing pop culture. Her main focus in art is photography, graphic design and mixed media art. In addition to photography, she also works with intaglio printing (etching, drypoint, aquatint) as well as transmissive, screen printing
